Students at Tech now are enrolled during a period of unprecedented construction growth that will help set the university apart in academics and appearance.

The university has released tentative construction completion dates and building costs: Tech Pointe – $12 million, Spring 2011; Lambright Intramural Center – $11.4 million, Fall 2011; Visual Arts Center – $563,000, May 2010; Visual Arts Building – $6.7 million, Fall 2010.

“Through efforts of a number of people, Tech is making a substantial effort for the community and state,” said Joe Thomas, vice president for finance and administration. “Projects have been in the planning stages and in consideration for a number of years.”

Thomas also said the projects will greatly enhance the educational and research experience at Tech.

He said, “They provide additional opportunities for students and faculty.”
